Nihon Goshin Aikido is a non competitive, defensive, traditional Japanese Martial Art utilizing circular principles of movement, combined with joint locks, throws, and immobilizations.
The art does not require strength to muster a successful defense against any conceivable attack, and it is appropriate for all ages 13 and up.
Training is conducted in a welcoming, cooperative, and friendly training environment which fosters self confidence, and allows participants to train safely and with confidence.
Students will learn how to "follow" the lead of their training partner/ attacker and then effortlessy utilize the attacker's own strength and intention against him.
Cooperative training is a hallmark of basic aikido training where the attacker gives an agreed upon attack, and then only mildly resists the technique to avoid injury. Ultimately, students will learn to defend themselves against an infinite array of modern highly skilled martial attacks while minimizing or limiting potential injury to their attacker.
Please come to a class to observe and/or experience Nihon Goshin Aikido first hand.
